Adopt Me Trading Guide
Trading is the core social loop in Adopt Me. Knowing how to value pets separates players who build up from players who lose their best stuff in a bad deal. Let's talk valuation, reading the market, etiquette, and the scams you need to spot.
How You Should Value Pets
- Rarity: Legendary > Limited > Ultra-Rare > Rare > Common. That's the baseline, not the price tag
- Demand: popular pets go above their rarity; unpopular ones go at a discount
- Age: Full Grown pets are worth more — you're selling a skipped grind
- Neon / Mega Neon status: each fusion level multiplies value way beyond the parts
- Event exclusivity: retired pets that can't be hatched anymore hold value because supply's frozen
Reading the Market
Values shift all the time. A pet that was hot last month might be "losing value" today because a shinier new pet stole the spotlight. Before any big trade, check recent trades in your server or on trading Discords. If multiple people want your pet, you've got leverage — ask for a small overpay. If you're chasing a pet, expect to pay above the baseline.
Trading Etiquette — Don't Be That Player
- Use the in-game trade window. Always. Nothing else
- Check both sides before hitting accept — read the window, not the chat
- Don't butt into someone else's negotiation
- Block and report anyone who harasses you for declining
- Screenshot every trade and keep it until the deal's done
When to Walk Away
The most important trading skill is knowing when to say no. If you feel rushed, pressured, or unsure about a pet's value — step back. There'll always be another trade tomorrow. Walking away protects your collection. Accepting a bad deal because you felt awkward can cost you a pet you spent weeks raising.
Scams You'll See Over and Over
- "Trust trade" — they want you to hand over a pet first "as trust," then they're gone
- Fake screenshots — edited images "proving" they sent something that was never in the window
- Third-party "valuation" sites — they steal your login
- Last-second switcheroo — they change their offer right before you accept. Always double-check
